Working with ENA was a great opportunity for me to travel around Europe and the UK, with flexible holiday options and holiday pay. The international experience looks great on your CV too!
It was a great way to save money, with all food and accommodation provided, plus the benefits of a good exchange rate.
Ena provided me with ample training upon arrival to the UK, a full handover in each new position, and I received full support from the Ena team.
Working with Ena was my chance to make a positive difference for someone with a disability, and chance for personal growth within myself. You experience living in a different culture, meeting new people and experience the rewards and challenges of caring for someone with a disability.
I would have to say the main challenges for me were:
- Being responsible for another person’s well being, and making healthcare decisions for them.
- Working in an environment that was (at times) isolated.
- Liaising with the clients' friends and family members.
After ENA, I returned to Australia to finish off my studies at uni, they are finally complete and am now looking for another job.
Honestly, I can say that my time in the UK was a great experience, and it was really due to ENA.
